I will be running the Belt Strike module for this.

This game should start in two to three weeks, depending on when the Star Wars game wraps up.






BTW, if your interested and you are one of those Traveller geeks where the "canon" is law, don't sign up. NOTHING is canon in my games. I follow "canon" only as long as it is convenient for me to do so.

OK, as I mentioned earlier I am using the Mongoose module "Belt Strike". It will be centered around mining in asteroid belts. So "belter" characters will be needed, they will cover these 4 "careers" in general: Prospector, Researcher, Miner, and worker.

A military character or two will work as well, so Imperial Navy, marines, and Scouts will work well.

So here is what you can do, roll 2d6 for 6 attributes. Reroll anything below a 5. Arrange as desired.

Strength
Dexterity
Endurance
Intelligence
Education
Social standing

Realize your beginning attributes can go up or down, depending on the rolls I get while generating your character.

Tell me about how long you want your character to be in a "career" before retiring out and becoming "independent". Decide in 4 year blocks. So if you want to be 22, 26, 30, 34, or 38? Realize the longer you stay in the better your skills will be, but your attributes could be lowered.

non Belters will have to be retired out, or early discharges. Realize retiring out can give you extra money and probably most importantly, gear. Possibly gear you will not be able to get in any other "LEGAL" way.

All rolls will basically be: 2d6+skill level+attribute modifiers+modifiers I give you. The higher you roll, the more likely your success will be. There are variable "TN's" that I decide upon based on the over all difficulty I think it is. The average "TN" is 8, and can range from a 2 to a 14, based on the "difficulty" of what is attempted.

Easy tasks will give you as much as a +6 add, difficult tasks can give you as much as a -6 modifier. So I will assign modifiers between +6 (good/easy to do) to a -6 (bad/hard to accomplish).

We'll work out the rest as we get characters worked out, etc...

So sign up ASAP and give me the basics to start with ASAP.

Game will tentatively start on October 22, or whatever Thursday falls on the week of the 22nd.

Your characters will start out as employees of the Lothrain Free Company, a mining out fit in the Sonara system. You are living in the Vinen Habitat, an asteroid hollowed out and turned into a "space habitat". Your company employs 25 people with a "fleet" of 5 ships.

You have been called to a meeting with your boss and other supervisors at 5 PM, Vinen time. We'll see you there.

Growing up on a series of prosperous mining colonies, young Francis never quite fit in. Instead of playing with his few fellow children or learning from the miners, his head was always stuck in a book. Fascinated by every subject from computers to planetary survival to folk tales, he learned a little of everything from astronavigation to astrology. An elaborate and unexpectedly effective prank against a bully earned eleven year-old Francis his nickname. As bad as Bugsy was at making friends, he excelled at school; it was simple enough to continue to higher education. After earning an undistinguished degree in engineering, Francis returned to work for the mining company under whose kind auspices he had grown up.
His career was a varied and intellectually challenging, after taking to computer systems, he became a general troubleshooter and all-around technical wiz for the company. This aptitude and his sometimes abrasive attitude led him to some strange assignments, including advising the company's security branch and hyperspace route plotting. After many years working as an astrogator, Bugsy tired of sitting in front of a terminal all day and has decided to make his fortune and retire.

I have found two things I did wrong in PC generation.

The skills you were not given as Vacc 0, or 0 G Environment 0, etc... should have all started as "1' when rolled during caeers.

So raise all skills other than the 3 you initially received at "0" by 1.

The other thing I did wrong, your rank advancement entitled you to an additional random roll.

So if you retired out at Rank 3, you have 3 more skill rolls coming. If your rank 6, you have 6 more rolls coming.
