It is almost too much to get my mind about. But I've just had news that our dear Dungeon Master has passed away. Ernie called this morning, he thought we should let the fans know. He's just sent an email out.

Gary was in his home when he gathered himself up to cross the great divide.

He was a very dear friend of mine. And I will miss him so.

Wow. That is truly sad to hear. It was my wish to someday (soon) shake his hand and thank him for everything he has done, as so many other fans have had the chance to do. I'm sure a lot of fans will be saddened to hear this. He's influenced the lives of so many people and his work and wit.

My sincerest condolences go out to all his friends and family.

Very sad to hear. He has touched alot of people and sparked countless imaginations. He was the Father to the entire hobby. He'll be dearly missed.

Stephen just gave me the news. I'm really choked up about this and I'm sure I'll have more to say later, but Gary Gygax was a very dear friend and mentor. I'm going to miss him terribly.

I had just gotten into LA and I didn't had time to tell him I found his game really excellent...

Wow. I'm speechless.

May he rest in peace. If our lives are truly measured in the joy we've brought to other people, the man was one of the all-time greats. I'm glad I got to meet him before he passed.

How/why did he pass? Do we have any information?
